Building child safety in organisations across WA
We support organisations to strengthen child safeguarding practices, embed a child safe culture and meet their obligations to keep children and young people safe.
Child safeguarding matters
Children and young people have the right to be safe whenever they engage with an organisation. Safeguarding doesn’t happen by chance – it is built through deliberate planning, strong systems and a daily commitment from everyone in an organisation, from volunteers to the CEO.
With legislation requiring compliance with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations soon to be introduced in WA, now is the time to act to safeguard children and young people in your organisation.
Child abuse and harm is an issue we can’t ignore
62%
of Australians report they experienced maltreatment in childhood*
1 in 4
young people have experienced
3-5 types of abuse*
28%
of Australians report they were
sexually abused as a child*
